I. BASIC ACTING PROGRAM:

FIRST INTENSIVE:  INTRODUCTION TO MEISNER’S BEHAVIORAL TECHNIQUE
[12 WEEKS - $850]
Students are trained in Meisner’s unique interactive approach to acting, and given a working knowledge of the entire scope of the technique.

SECOND INTENSIVE:  REHEARSAL AND SCENEWORK – COMPLETING A SCENE*

[12 WEEKS - $850]
Students develop a complete set of tools to break down a scene and engage with the rehearsal process from beginning to end, to create a complete performance.

THIRD INTENSIVE:  INTRODUCTION TO CHARACTER WORK - EXPLORING THE TOOLS FOR CREATING A CHARACTER
[16 WEEKS - $1200]
 Students engage in an in-depth study of the individual tools of character creation.

FOURTH INTENSIVE:  DEVELOPING A CHARACTER AND CREATING A ROLE*
[18 WEEKS - $1350]
Students learn one of the most comprehensive approaches to building the physical and emotional life of a character step by step to create a unique and original role.

FIFTH INTENSIVE:  SOLIDIFYING THE CHARACTER TECHNIQUE
SPOON RIVER MONOLOGUES*
[10 WEEKS - $750]
The emotional and physical aspects of character work are fused together to create intense and exciting character portraits and bring the character technique to a new level.

SIXTH INTENSIVE:  WORKING WITH A DIRECTOR AND CREATING A COMPLETE PERFORMANCE*

[16 WEEKS - $1200]
All of the skills of the entire acting program are put into a professional format, training actors to take direction and use their technique to complete a professional-level role.
*PLEASE NOTE THAT INTENSIVES II, III, IV AND V WILL INCLUDE AN IN-STUDIO SCENE PERFORMANCE WITH INVITED GUESTS.

II. ADVANCED ACTING PROGRAM
[ADVANCED INTENSIVES ARE 16 WEEKS AND $1300 EACH]

FIRST ADVANCED INTENSIVE:  AUDITION TECHNIQUE: COLD READINGS AND MONOLOGUES
Students are taught to quickly analyze and perform scenes and give a most effective reading for auditions.
They then apply their full technique to systematically building up selected monologues to a professional performance level.

SECOND ADVANCED INTENSIVE:  ACTING FOR FILM AND TELEVISION
Perhaps the most fun of all the series, students learn to apply their technique to three unique on-camera situations: film acting, sitcoms and soaps.

THIRD ADVANCED INTENSIVE:  WORKING ON A CLASSICAL ROLE: SHAKESPEARE AND RESTORATION PLAYS*

[18 WEEKS - $1450]
Students learn to approach classical material with a sense of living reality while becoming skilled in a most thorough and detailed classical technique.
*THIS ADVANCED SERIES INCLUDES AN IN-STUDIO SCENE PERFORMANCE FOR INVITED GUESTS.

ONGOING WORKSHOPS [SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY:]

PERFORMANCE TRAINING PROGRAM
An ongoing workshop training graduates in advanced performance projects and issues.  Examples have included a year-long rehearsal exploration of Aeschylus’ “Agamemnon” and Eugene O’Neil’s “Mourning Becomes Electra” comparing scenes and characters in the two works; and a seminar in “Improvising Film Characters for Film Creation,” inspired by the filmmaking techniques of British filmmaker Mike Leigh.
ADVANCED AUDITION WORKSHOP
An ongoing workshop in which graduates work on cold readings and monologues for upcoming auditions or that contain challenging audition material for their career development.
